When you look at this picture, do you see what looks like 4 cubes (in 3D) sitting next to each other?

If so, then see if you can "magically" turn the 4 cubes into 3 cubes by moving only 1 plank!

(If you don't see the 4 cubes, then ask someone to help or try a different puzzle)

Make the Design on a Table

You can try to solve this puzzle in your head, or if you think it's fun to move real blocks around then grab some Brain Blox wooden planks (or anything with a similar shape) and lay them out on a table so they look like the design in the above photo.

 

Then test your solution ideas by moving only 1 plank.

Don't read any further unless you want some help solving this puzzle!

Hint #1: When you move the 1 plank, you won't move it very far at all!  In fact, one end will stay in about the same place and you'll rotate the other end down.

Hint #2: When solved, it looks like the cube in the middle disappeared.  (By "cube in the middle" we don't mean the cube sticking out in front)
